Profile:

I first became interested in Law at college having had no previous exposure to this career path. I didn’t know any solicitors or barristers and needed experience to understand whether this would be a profession which I not only would enjoy but in which I would succeed. I managed to secure some work experience locally which led to further experience at a London firm. I learnt from these experiences which proved that this was a path I wished to pursue.

I studied Law with Spanish at University including a year abroad in Barcelona. Experiencing cultural tendencies in different languages both socially and within a business sphere allowed me to broaden my understanding of the value of diversity in life and in the work space.

I made many applications to various firms and learnt so much at each stage I reached. I undertook 3 vacation schemes until I obtained my training contract with Trowers & Hamlins LLP. I learnt that choosing a firm that not only wanted to employ you but one that you wanted to work for was key. Finding a firm that fits your personality was as important as finding a firm with the opportunities you desired. I am currently an associate in the Commercial department having undertaken seats during my training contract in Commercial and Construction Litigation; Real Estate (covering Commercial Property / Housing & Regeneration); Projects and Construction and Corporate Commercial. I have also undertaken a secondment with the in-house legal team at Abu Dhabi National Oil Company in Abu Dhabi.

I have been lucky enough to receive some amazing opportunities during both my training contract and qualified career which I have no doubt is aided by the diversity of my firm. It is not an easy task obtaining a training contract and I have had my fair share of rejection which is unfortunately part of the process.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch should you have any queries and I will do my best to help you along the way.
