Profile:

Growing up in suburban Hampshire, attending state school, I knew what lawyers did, but I didn’t know any lawyers, least of all any corporate finance lawyers! I did know, however, that I wanted to go to university in London, which I did, later qualifying into the insolvency and restructuring team of a Magic Circle firm. I personally did not face any substantive barriers to entry to the commercial legal profession. However, since being part of it, I have recognised the need for people like me to work to make the profession more open to, and inviting for, all, and would consider myself to be a diversity ally in that respect. I have a particular passion for equal opportunities in progression in the legal world and seeking to ensure that everybody can carve their own path, choosing to focus my LLM thesis on the progression of women. As a new working mother of a young daughter, I am even more focused on that.
