Profile:

I grew up in Southall, West London and studied Law at the University of Birmingham from 1995 to 1998.  After completing the LPC in Nottingham, I started my training contract here in September 1999. I enjoyed seats in Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Litigation and M&A. After qualifying into the Banking & Finance team, I was made a Partner at Macfarlanes in May 2011.  I specialise in debt transactions, acting for corporate clients, private clients, private equity sponsors, turnaround investors, bondholders and senior and mezzanine lenders in relation to, real estate finance and workouts and restructurings. A recent deal I worked on was for Game Digital plc, the computer game retailer, on its refinancing.

I am also a graduate recruitment partner at the firm and I spend a lot of time on the attraction and selection of our future trainees working closely with our graduate recruitment team. Diversity and inclusion are at the forefront of our recruitment decisions and we are proud to be using Contextual Recruitment, a tool which allows us to view all applicants from a socio-economic perspective. This means we can view all candidates fairly and by using this we hope to increase diversity amongst our workforce.

I hope I can answer your questions going forward and share my experience.
