Profile:

I started my legal career in-house at a blue chip investment company. It was here that I gained experience in many areas spanning the company’s entire portfolio – this ranged from hospitals and healthcare to renewable energy projects. I primarily dealt within the infrastructure sector providing legal advice on the acquisition, formation and disposal of Special Purchase Vehicles (SPV) carrying out investment activities. My duties involved advising the SPV on all legal matters faced from a project bid through to the running of the SPV and finally the exit of the SPV for substantial cash return (where possible!).

After qualification I moved to Latham and Watkins LLP and joined the corporate team undertaking a wide range of junior tasks honing in on corporate diligence and preliminary deal matters. I was able to understand wider more complex deal structures in the corporate world from my time here. I also gained exposure to some of the largest M&A deals in the world working with some of the biggest companies in the world. After a year of working for Latham and Watkins in the UK I was given the opportunity to move to the Latham office in Houston, Texas. In America I set up a team of corporate specialists who would assist the global corporate team on all deal matters. Once the pandemic hit, I returned to the UK to be closer to family.

Upon moving back to the UK I joined SPB and began the next and current stage in my career as an Associate in the corporate team in Manchester. Here I advise on a wide range of legal practice covering all aspects of corporate work across a range of sectors, including domestic, international and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, private equity corporate reorganisations and restructuring, and general corporate advice.
