Law School Attended
Future trainee solicitor | Dentons
- Non Russell Group university
I am a future trainee at Dentons; due to commence my training contract in 2022. My journey to becoming at trainee solicitor began when I enrolled onto the Law LLB degree at Nottingham Law School at NTU in September 2018. I engaged in pro bono work at the Nottingham Law School Legal Advice Centre in 2018 alongside my studies, before gaining a place on the Goldman Sachs Legal Insight Programme through Aspiring Solicitors over the summer of 2019. From there I engaged with a number of firms and organisations operating within a variety of industries (including Banking, Tax, Audit, Hospitality and Consultancy) via business and legal internships.
With the support of Aspiring Solicitors, I secured Vacation Schemes at both Bates Wells and Dentons over the summer of 2020 and subsequent to the schemes I am delighted to have accepted a training contract offer from Dentons to commence August 2022.
I believe it is incredibly important that diverse talent within the legal industry make a concerted effort to remain visible, and offer a helping hand to diverse candidates aspiring to a career in the law. It is equally important that candidates recognise that their diversity can in fact be their greatest strength – not a barrier to their success. Having recently successfully navigated the application process as a diverse candidate, I am therefore keen to provide support and insight to AS members through my role as a professional ambassador.
If you have questions about navigating the application process as an LGBTQ+, disabled or non-Russell group candidate, or want to hear more about what Dentons in particular are doing to promote diversity and inclusion within the firm please feel free to contact me via the email address provided.
