Law School Attended
Trainee Solicitor | Clyde & Co
- Non- law background
- First generation graduate and lawyer
- Distance learning GDL student
I am a Modern Languages graduate from the University of Birmingham. I studied the GDL at BPP University on their Distance Learning programme, whilst living abroad. I completed the LPC at BPP Holborn and commenced my training contract with Clyde & Co in August 2017.
I strongly believe the legal profession should be as diverse as the multicultural society that it serves. No matter your gender, race, disability, sexuality or background, my advice is to be determined, to work hard on your skillset and to use the fantastic sources of assistance that Aspiring Solicitors offers.
As a non-law student with no family members in the legal industry, I struggled to find advice regarding applications and legal work experience. Whilst work experience is extremely valuable, the importance of part-time jobs, extra-curricular activities and an enthusiastic attitude is paramount to successful applications. However, unless these experiences and attributes can be effectively articulated then they are at risk of not being recognised on paper and in interviews. I am very keen to help other aspiring solicitors so please do not hesitate to contact me.
