Law School Attended
Solicitor | DAC Beachcroft
- State school educated
- First generation to go to university
I am a solicitor in the commercial team at DAC Beachcroft, based in our London office in the Walbrook building – our global HQ. I was offered a training contract towards the end of 2016 following 6 months in our Manchester office working at a paralegal in the Real Estate team, mainly focusing on Property Finance. I started my training contract in September 2017 in our London office. Prior to working for DACB I studied law at the University of Sheffield and went on to do my LPC at the University of Law in Chester.
Following numerous unsuccessful training contract applications and a missed opportunity on a vacation scheme I ditched the conventional route of securing a training contract and decided to apply for paralegal roles. I found working as a paralegal provided me with invaluable experiences and I felt like I could really hit the ground running when I started my training contract.
Although my route to securing a training contract was a relatively long one I had a lot of help with applications and preparing for assessment centres from peers and other friends who had already been through the process. This massively helped me on way in to the legal profession and I would be more than happy to return the favour to other aspiring solicitors – so feel free to get in touch.
