Profile:

I am a trainee solicitor at Womble Bond Dickinson (UK) LLP currently undertaking my second seat in the Real Estate sector as part of the Developers and Investors/Finance and Investment team. I am a Master of Laws LPC graduate from Northumbria University and I graduated in September 2021 with First Class Honours.

I have learned that it is important to embrace your own diversity rather than seeing it as something which may hinder your ability to achieve your aspirations or career progression. Diversity drives innovation and creates opportunities for wider thinking and practical resolutions. A diverse individual in a room full of people who are all from similar walks of life will have a unique perspective and thought process which is advantageous to the individual and the business. Diversity can help you relate to different clients who may have experienced similar situations to you or have a similar background. These are just a few examples of why diversity is important and should be embraced.

I spent a long time believing that my social background would prevent me from achieving my career aspirations. I was introduced to the AS organisation during my first year of university and spent years 2 and 3 as the Campus Ambassador for my university promoting the organisation. I participated in the events and mentoring program which AS provided and I was fortunate enough to share these opportunities with my fellow students during this period. I believe that these opportunities form a large part of my success so far and would love to continue to promote diversity and inclusion.
