Profile:
I’m an associate in the corporate team at Farrer & Co, and a father of two young children—a toddler and a baby. I was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, and lived there until I was 17. Although I was always interested in law, my father had other plans, and I ended up studying Petroleum Engineering—first at London South Bank University, then for a master’s at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.
Engineering taught me resilience and discipline, but it also clarified what I really wanted: to pursue a career in law. Making the switch wasn’t easy. I self-funded the GDL while applying for training contracts, all with the goal of forging a more meaningful path. My wife’s unwavering support made all the difference.
I’ll admit—I was initially hesitant to apply to Farrer, assuming I didn’t fit the mould of the “Farrer lawyer”. But from my first interview to my first seat in Financial Services with a six-month-old baby, I. was welcomed and supported. I realised that there isn’t one mould—we can all be Farrer lawyers. What matters is hard work and dedication.
Throughout my journey, I’ve drawn strength from a diverse set of life experiences and taken every opportunity to learn from the perspectives of others. That mindset hasn’t just shaped my approach to law—it’s shaped who I am.
