Profile:

I am an Associate in the Family team at Farrer & Co in London and advise on all aspects of family law. I have particular expertise in resolving complex and high-value matrimonial finance matters and negotiating financial arrangements on divorce. Many of my cases have an international element, involving foreign jurisdictions or assets, and I regularly act for US-based clients and on matters with a US legal dimension.

I completed my training contract with Farrers between 2015 and 2017 having previously taken part in a summer Vacation Scheme with the firm. I completed the GDL without a training contract so I understand the balancing act of applying for positions and trying to do well on the course. I was lucky to find Farrers to be a good fit for me and during my training contract completed seats in Family, Residential Property, Corporate, Disputes and Private Client, ultimately qualifying into the Family team.

Before training to be a solicitor in the UK I received my undergraduate degree in English Literature from UCLA in Los Angeles and attended law school in the States at Pepperdine University School of Law. I worked as a family law litigator in California for 2 years before moving to England to cross-qualify. Though qualifying in the UK was not technically a career-change, it was a big commitment in terms of time, money and geography and I would be happy to discuss applying as a mature candidate and about working previously in a different career.
