2 Places At Unique Flux Networking Event For AS Members!

FLUXLexisNexis, one of the Founder Members of Aspiring Solicitors, is presenting 2 lucky AS members with an opportunity to join senior members of the legal profession at a unique networking event on Monday 23rd November.

The event is the launch of FLUX, a new ground-breaking publication for the legal market, published in partnership with Cambridge Judge Business School, Executive Education. It is being held at Bird & Bird on Fetter Lane, from 6pm.

FLUX is a celebration of the achievements of particularly outstanding women in top law firms and in-house, on both a national and international level.

With its unique and brilliantly illustrated features focusing on a range of challenges facing women in the legal profession, FLUX puts a quirky-but-memorable spin on these issues, and is ultimately centred around a manifesto for change.

Issues highlighted and challenged in the 48-page magazine include perceptions of elitism, salary, flexibility, lifestyle choice and the progression of technology to enable ABSs, customer centricity, rainmaking, doing things differently, and more.

As Dame Sandra Dawson, Professor Emeritus of Management Studies at the University of Cambridge, says in her introduction:

‘…I believe the most successful firms in 2030 will be those who have enthusiastically and systematically ensured they have recruited and promoted women to the very top of their organisations. They will be the firms who, in 2015, decide to take a long, hard look at their culture and working practices – and make radical change. Who recognise that letting brilliant women leave just because they become mothers does not make financial sense. Who realise that mentoring, networks and coaching are just the start. Who are seriously monitoring their pipeline of stellar lawyers.’

If you would like the opportunity to be part of this manifesto for change, then you need to do the following:

  • Answer this question in no more than 100 words: What 1 thing do you think the legal profession should do to break the ‘glass ceiling’?
  • Confirm your Aspiring Solicitors username
  • Submit your answer to Aspiring Solicitors by clicking  HERE by 11.59pm on Thursday 19th
  • Be available to attend the launch on Monday 23rd

Entries will be judged by LexisNexis on Friday 20th November and the winners notified by close of business.
